Fashion shoot at Bletchley Park

I was in my element with 12 models and an endless supply of wedding dresses for a fashion shoot at  Bletchley Park, just outside of Milton Keynes. It was a great chance to try out some new ideas and techniques which you can’t do under the pressures of a wedding day. And it was fun discovering a new venue too. Bletchley Park was the UKs main codebreaking site during WWII. The intelligence produced there is credited with having provided crucial help which shortened the war. I was in my element with wood panelling, the library, submarine, fighter jet and more and more. But never mind all that … it was the grungy garage doors which provided the backdrop for some of my favourite shots!

Cliff & Beth – pre wedding shoot

It seemed like Cliff, Beth and I had one of the local parks to ourselves for their pre wedding shoot last Sunday morning. It had been raining heavily in the week before and the forecast for the rest of the day was for heavy showers, so the usual joggers, dog walkers and bike riders must have thought better of it. But weddings carry on regardless of the weather, and therefore so do pre wedding shoots – there’s no getting out of it ;) Now being an accessory lover I have quite a collection of umbrellas and had some fun & funky brolly shots planned for Cliff and Beth’s shoot. So no wonder we had an hour of pure glory for their shoot, LOL. It wasn’t so good for my jeans however, which I had to wash three times before they came clean, after laying in the mud to get ‘the shot’!

Some faves …

Fi & Alex get wed

I had such a fun day photographing Fi & Alex’s wedding. They married at St Denys in Cold Ashby, Northamptonshire and had a marquee reception at Broomhill hotel near Spratton. It was a somewhat wet and blustery start to the day, so much so that poor Fi had to make a quick dash from car to house before her ‘do’ was blown about. Even up to 5 minutes before the ceremony was due to start the rain clouds were looming but luckily it held off for Fi’s walk to church and we came out of the ceremony to glorious sunshine.

Ashley & Roberta: the pre-wedding shoot

Monday was a typical rainy Bank Holiday Monday but the sun did come out for an hour or so for my pre wedding shoot with Ashley and Roberta, who are having their wedding reception at Notley Abbey in July. I first met Ashley and Roberta at The National Wedding Show at Olympia last year. The time has flown since then and it was lovely to hear how their wedding plans have taken shape. It promises to be an amazing day. Fingers crossed the dry spell was a good omen for their wedding :)
