Bridal fashion shoot at Rushton Hall part 1
Gorgeous designer wedding dresses from Fairytale Weddings + two fab models + stunning wedding venue Rushton Hall + uber creative stylist Toni Perryman = one very happy photographer :0)
I wanted to go all-out glamour for this shoot and the luxury of Rushton Hall suited the dresses perfectly. It was a full day’s shoot and I still didn’t manage to exhaust the possibilities of Rushton Hall. It’s the most amazing place for photography. I shoot at Rushton Hall quite often so it was nice to have the luxury of time (which you don’t have at a wedding) to look around with a fresh pair of eyes. The opportunity to try new things isn’t an option on a client’s wedding day so it was great to really challenge myself and try something different.
I need to say a massive “thank you” to my models – Daisy and Sarah – who were so patient with all the dress and hair changes, and my constant faffing to get things just so.
First up is Daisy. If you’ve been to Fairytale Weddings you may recognise Daisy but if not, go see their gowns, they’re to die-for.
This dress is ‘Dakota’ by Constantina. I really love the mix of natural and ambient light in the first shot. And the very Hollywood pose. The second shot is lit with a video light, using barn doors to create the pool of light.
This is ‘Fortuna’ by Ian Stuart. This is a simple corridor but I was drawn in by all the lines. Plenty of swooshing from Daisy and big hair to match the big dress made a cool shot.
Here’s ‘Marie Louise’ by Jenny Packham. Her dresses are beautifully fluid and have wonderful movement when you walk. Looks equally good in the bath LOL. I had to crawl into the fireplace to get far enough back for this shot!
‘Marie Louise’ again. Veils can make such a difference to your look. Even for a simple slim fitting gown. A vintage hair-band and finger waves suit this dress perfectly.
