‘Frock-On’ fashion shoot at a ruined country house

Wendy had a REALLY rainy day for her wedding last June and the powers that be must have been having a right laugh at the torrential rain on the morning of her post-wedding ‘Frock-On’ fashion shoot. The rain battered the car all the way to my secret location. We decided to have lunch early to see if the skies cleared up, which of course was entertaining in itself since Wendy was in a pub having lunch in her wedding dress, as you do! Somebody must have taken pity because by the time we’d had lunch the rain had stopped and the sun was out, hoorah!

Toni worked her magic with Wendy’s hair and make-up. We wanted to go for a completely different look to the wedding day and decided on a loose up-do that was full of glamour.

The great thing about a post-wedding shoot is that it’s all about being creative. The pace is much slower than a wedding or portrait session and it’s more akin to a big production fashion shoot with attentive styling, hair and make-up adjustments throughout. Styling and posing is very fashion influenced and whilst some of the poses are fairly uncompromising, they look simply fabulous. It takes some trust in your photographer to climb high up on a wall in your wedding dress but the end results are totally worth it!
