Bisham Abbey wedding photography recce

Last week I met up with very good friend and fellow photographer Rosie Parsons. We had a yummy lunch and spent a lovely few hours together in the sunshine. And this is what I call work!

We were working really! On a recce and meeting clients for a wedding which I’m shooting on her behalf later this year (long story!).

The venue for this particular wedding is Bisham Abbey, which sits on the banks of the river Thames, just outside Marlow, in the Buckinghamshire countryside. It’s a 12th Century manor house and was once home to Henry VIII. It has lots of scope for great wedding photography – the gardens are beautiful, I loved the stonework and the riverbank is really close. The Great Hall will put my camera to the test though for sure, as it’s dark dark dark! But utterly fabulous with a 100ft vaulted ceiling, minstrels gallery, stained glass window and huuuge fireplace.
