Rushton Hall wedding photography – Derek & Daniela

I knew I was going to have an amazing time photographing Derek and Daniela’s wedding. They’re a lovely couple and had been brilliant models on their pre-wedding shoot, so I was looking forward to working with them. And any guesses on the venue? Oh Rushton Hall how I never tire of you!

Daniela looked stunning in a Caroline Castigliano gown and carried a gorgeous bouquet of  cream roses and hydrangea by Julie Anna Flowers.

The ceremony was held at St Francesca Cabrini Italian church in Bedford. I usually find Catholic Priests incredibly relaxed about wedding photography and today was no exception. It’s a delight and incredible honour to be up close to the couple as they say their vows and exchange rings, and to be able to capture those intimate moments from a good standpoint. This is all done discretely of course. That beautiful pedestal of flowers is a great hiding place!

Since it was raining everyone headed off to Rushton Hall quite quickly after the ceremony. Drinks were served in the Great Hall and the group photos were done in the Drawing Room. There was rather a lot of the latter being a large Italian wedding, but everyone seemed to enjoy having their photos taken so the time went really quickly. Rushton Hall is fantastic inside so it’s really no problem to get great photographs on a wet day. Luckily though the rain did ease off after dinner and we were able to do a few Bride and Groom photos outside.

The Pavillion looked particularly good with so many beautifully decorated tables and tall glass vases of flowers as far as the eye could see. The wonderful Jo and Mandie at Wedding Paraphernalia had created the pink accented table stationery which worked perfectly with the colour scheme.

The memory of Derek and Daniela’s first dance will stay with me for some time. Everything started quite normally. Then Daniela’s parents came up and started wrapping streamers around them. Ah, that’s lovely, I thought. Then came the crowds with confetti and many more streamers, completely covering and entwining Derek and Daniela! That made for some fun photos!

And so to a few favourites…
