Engagement portraits – Stuart & Emily

The rain was torrential on the morning of Stuart & Emily’s pre-wedding portrait shoot but my sun dance worked a treat and we had glorious sunshine for the entire time.

Bridal fashion photography for R magazine

6 gorgeous wedding gowns, 2 fabulous Mother of the Bride outfits, 2 stylish suits for the Groom, a pretty Flower Girl dress and a beautiful bridal lingerie set. Not to mention bouquets, cakes and jewellery. I was. in. my. element.

This shoot was organised by Northamptonshire’s R-Magazine for the bridal fashion feature in their September wedding special. One of my favourite local wedding venues, Rushton Hall, was the location for the shoot and it never fails to inspire me; there’s always something new to be found.

You can see more photos from this shoot including some behind the scenes on my facebook fanpage.

Pembroke Lodge wedding photography – James & Pip

James and Pip’s wedding at Pembroke Lodge in Richmond Park was lots of fun to photograph. Not just because of all the gorgeous things for me to get my camera round. But also because I was second shooting for the fab Rosie Parsons who’s a very good friend of mine. Rosie and I often work together; well, if you can call it work – there’s nothing better than doing a job you love, than doing it with a wonderful friend.

This was my third visit to Pembroke Lodge. Surrounded by trees, deer and open parkland it’s an oasis of calm. James and Pip had both their civil ceremony and reception there and had use of the downstairs rooms which open onto a courtyard with spectacular views across Surrey.

The day’s excitement started with a bespoke Ellie & Charlotte gown and a fabbie pair of Louboutins. I do love a bit of a red sole. I also adored the elegance of Pip’s choice of simple white hydrangea bouquets and table centre-pieces. The French themed table plan as a reminder of James and Pip’s link to France was really fun too. And the traditional Chinese wedding cake looked delicious – meringue piled high with cream and fruit.

The big highlight of the day however was the surprise singing waiters who burst into song after the main course to the delight of all the guests. The reactions of the guests who had truly believed these were real staff up until the moment they started singing was brilliant. It went down an absolute storm and had everyone singing, clapping and dancing along. Literally up out of their chairs dancing. I’d highly recommend it, très entertaining.

Venue: Pembroke Lodge, Richmond
Dress: Ellie & Charlotte
Cake: Golden Gate Cake Shop

Engagement photos – James & Vikki

Like most clients James and Vikki were really nervous about their pre-wedding portrait shoot and told me that they don’t photograph well. I think they might have changed their minds now!

Client review | James & Julia

The lovely James and Julia wrote this lovely list of things they liked about their wedding photography at The Swan in Lavenham with us…

“What is it that we are really in search of when we look back at our wedding photographs? I think it’s a lasting consciousness of the feeling and atmosphere of our day. This is what Sarah captures so well.  Looking back through her photographs really is like re-living your day.

Brilliant Things About Sarah Vivienne Photography

  • Sarah’s calm, reassuring manner.
  • Her bespoke approach – she wants to know what you want from your photos, and will listen to what is important to you, tailoring your photos to meet your needs.
  • The pre-wedding shoot  – this enables you and Sarah to get to know each other; brilliant for setting you at your ease for your wedding day.
  • The venue pre-visit to see the best places to shoot and reassure you that Sarah really knows your venue.
  • All key points of the day are covered (getting ready, guests arriving, ceremony, cake cutting, speeches etc)
  • A thorough, detailed plan of what will happen when, including a detailed schedule of formal shots – at the same time, this remains flexible!
  • The Bride and Groom photo shoot – alone, somewhere quiet, momentarily away from the rest of your guests! Just after you’re married! Brilliant!
  • You can choose to have your photos in digital format for you to do what you like with! (we opted for this, but are now seriously considering ordering an album, as the photos are so good…)
  • Sarah maintains a discreet presence throughout (she blends in, and no-one really notices her!)
  • Sarah will cover the whole day. In our case, that was almost 12 hours!”
