Bisham Abbey wedding photos – Lee & Amber
Having a strong network of fellow photographers whose professionalism and work you trust is an important part of running a wedding photography business. You never know when you might need a helping hand.
I’ve become good friends with the lovely Rosie Parsons over the time I’ve been in business and was only too happy to help her out in an hour of need by covering a wedding for her.
Lee and Amber got married at All Saints Church, in Marlow. The church is right on the river; a beautiful setting. I was very ably assisted on the day by Amanda Caroline, and my goodness, she earnt her stripes at this wedding! Vicar charming is part of the job sometimes but today we had a very difficult time. But rain doesn’t stop my play!
The reception venue, Bisham Abbey, is a 12th century manor house and was once home to Henry VIII. It has so many great spots for photos and we had lots of fun creating some Bride & Groom portraits. The Great Hall, the setting for dinner, also makes for some fab pictures. It’s very majestic with a high vaulted ceiling and mahoosive fireplace. Amber’s Mum had done a brilliant job with the table decorations having sourced lots of glass vases and jars from charity shops and car boot sales to use as vessels for the flowers, which she also did herself. Amazing! Amber had painted the ‘Mr & Mrs Grant’ sign as a surprise for Lee and I loved the cheeky little Grant whisky miniatures, a great thought to find something with their surname.

Queensberry photo album – Ricky & Heidi
Ricky and Heidi’s album is right up there in my favourite ever finished albums. Largely because they put in enough photos to do justice to the story of their day.
There’s around 150 photos in their album, giving them a beautiful mix of wide atmospheric pictures that set the scene alongside complementary details, lots of posed and candid photos of their guests as well as some gorgeous sequences of Bride & Groom photos. It’s the perfect end result.
The album itself is a 14×10″ landscape Queensberry album, with flushmount style pages and a buckram cover in ‘carbon’. I love the buckram cover options as they have a little bit of sparkle to them.

Wedding photos of Colin and Sarah
Colin and Sarah’s wedding was fabulously relaxed.
They had a church ceremony which the vicar made really personal. It was very fitting to be surrounded by the harvest festival fruit and veg in the church as the couple work in that industry.
I loved their choice of transport home from the church – Colin’s kit car, which Sarah had always refused to go in until this day, fearing it’s speed. And I loved that the day she chose to was in all her wedding finery! Getting in, okay climbing in, was something of a challenge in a wedding dress but she looked quite the film star in her headscarf and oversize sunglasses. Very Audrey Hepburn. Her expression as Colin pulled away, with all the force of a hurricane, was hilarious. Needless to say Colin and Sarah made it back to the reception well ahead of everyone else!
They’d planned a marquee reception at their home; and the atmosphere was very much that of a large party. We did just a few set up photographs, all done in about 10 minutes, which left Colin and Sarah free to enjoy lots of time, champagne and canapés with their guests.
The marquee was split into zones. A glass roofed entrance area with live music and comfy sofas was the perfect setting for drinks and chatting. A fun children’s area with bunting, bean-bags and a bouncy castle kept the kiddies entertained. And then the main dining area which was decorated with lots of fresh greens and cream to continue the earthen feel. The tables were named after species of trees and a packet of vegetable seeds were given as table favours. And they’d chosen a ‘cheesecake’ as an alternative to a wedding cake, which was served with the evening nibbles. At night the marquee took on a completely different look with coloured lighting reflecting on the tables and roof of the marquee.

Client review | Ricky & Heidi
Ricky and Heidi had a church wedding followed by a reception at Old Thorns Hotel in Liphook, Hampshire. We had such great fun creating their wedding photos with them (as you can see!).

Enjoying the experience of wedding photography is such an important part of what you’re buying when you pick a wedding photographer. But it’s one of those things that you can’t put a value on until afterwards. So a few words from Ricky and Heidi on how they found ‘the process’…
“Heidi and I just wanted to say thank you so much for the album that you produced for us; and for the effort, support and professionalism that you showed leading up to and during the day of our wedding.
“From our first meeting at the wedding show, through to the pre wedding shoot and leading up to the wedding day itself you were always available for any questions we had or to talk to about any concerns or fears we might be feeling. You answered all our questions about photos and even weddings in general. We really appreciated your friendliness and the care you put into something that was so important to us. It was obvious that you understood and appreciated that.
“On the day you put us at our ease and helped us keep things on track. We had no worries at all about the photos that you would produce.
“Every time we look at our album now it transports us back to the best day of our lives. Everything about the day is there – it captures not just how happy Heidi and I were, but how happy everyone there was. It captures the amount of effort and detail that we put into arranging the day, the fun we all had, and most importantly it captures the love that Heidi and I have for one another. It’s truly magical what you’ve been able to capture in the album – the story of the day and all the emotions that go along with it. We’ll treasure it forever. Thank you so much”
