Rushton Hall wedding – Darren & Catherine
Most weddings are planned, meticulously, over many months. Years sometimes. But not so for Darren and Catherine who decided to just go for it. In three weeks. And oh my, they pulled off a fabulous day.
Their very chilled out, down to earth approach to it all led to the most beautiful, relaxed day you could imagine. And one that was full of fun and laughter.
In fact, I haven’t laughed so much at a wedding as I did with Darren and Catherine.
Anyone who’s married will know how hard you concentrate on saying your vows correctly, not wanting to get your words muddled. Catherine stumbled a little over the ‘I take you, Darren …’. When I say stumble I mean that she said Darren’s first and middle names back to front. And then exclaimed ‘goodness, I nearly married your Dad!’ (Darren’s middle name is his Dad’s first name.) Everyone was in stitches! That certainly laid any nerves to rest! I loved this moment and just had to share the entire sequence of photos (see pictures 8-11). The expressions on everyone’s faces say it all. I had to remind myself I needed to stop laughing and take a photo of all the merriment and giggling! Much hilarity!
This set the tone for the rest of the day which was full of smiles and happiness. Just two people in love, having a great time with their family and friends. I had such a fabulous time capturing it all.

Client review | Richard & Henrietta

2010 seems to have been a year for hearing horror stories about wedding photographers in Northampton. Richard & Henrietta are one of several couples who came to me after cancelling a pre-existing booking because they weren’t happy. Which makes it doubly special to have received these lovely words from them…
“Sarah did a fabulous job with the photography for our wedding. She is so knowledgable and very professional and from the pre-wedding shoot through to our wedding day, she was simply excellent! We were thrilled with our photos; she had captured every bit of detail from our special day! We have just received our finished Queensberry album and are absolutely delighted – this is something we will treasure for years! We would like to say a huge thank you for everything & for anyone looking to book a photographer: book Sarah!”

Client review | Stuart & Emily

Stuart & Emily had their wedding at Dodmoor House in Northampton. They initially booked a family friend as their wedding photographer but long. Story. Short. They had second thoughts and booked us.
Their final verdict:
“We booked Sarah just a few months before our wedding and looking back it was one of the best decisions we could have made. Sarah was friendly and professional right from our first contact and the more we saw of her photographs, the more we loved them.
“Having the wedding pre-shoot was brilliant as it helped us become more relaxed in front of the camera and once we saw the photos from the day we had absolute confidence that Sarah would make our wedding look beautiful.
“On the actual day Sarah was organised and a very calming influence! She did a brilliant job adapting to the unpredictable weather, rearranging the timings so we could fit things in between showers, and also handling our sometimes uncontrollable families throughout the group shots. From the photos she seems to have been everywhere at once somehow without us even noticing!
“We absolutely love all the photos but especially our portrait shots in the grounds, so romantic! Sarah was a miracle worker to make us look so good considering we were grinning from ear to ear all day! It’s lovely seeing all our friends and family’s expressions through the ceremony and reception too.
“We love that Sarah captured all the small details of the stationery and flowers as well – we spent so much time thinking about and sorting out all the little things and it’s great that they’re all recorded so beautifully so we’ll never forget them.
“We will be recommending you to all our friends and are really pleased to have had you!
“So to finish we want to say a massive thank you to Sarah for all her hard work, and for photographs which capture the day perfectly.”

Queensberry wedding album – Derek & Daniela
It’s always with mixed feelings that I deliver an album to a client. In some ways it’s the best part of my job, handing over the finished album that many months of hard work has brought to fruition. And though I know the albums are going to be loved, they’re my babies too and so delicious that it’s hard to part with them. This one had to be prised out of my hands!
Derek and Daniela have just over 160 photos in a 15×12″ vertical Queensberry album. It’s unusual for me to design in a vertical format but being such a large album I thought the shape and weight distribution would be easier to handle. Also most of the ‘hero’ pictures were in a vertical orientation so it allowed me to make those as big as possible.
The pages are in the classic overlay style with ivory matts and silver protective edges and corners. The cover is ‘sandstone’ contemporary leather. It feels very elegant. I just love it.

Queensberry wedding album – Richard & Henrietta
I love this time of year. Not because I’m winding down at the end of wedding season, far from it in fact, but because I’m receiving so many deliveries of finished wedding albums for this summer’s clients. It’s an exiting time seeing the end result of something that’s been in the making for many months.
Here’s Rich & Hen’s finished album … a gorgeous 12×12 inch Japanese silk covered number with classic matted pages and silver protective corners. The sheen and texture of the silks from Queensberry is beyond beautiful and makes a great alternative to leather.
