Pet photography – Leo

So something a little different … portraits with Leo, a completely loveable labrador. Not my usual subject but when previous wedding clients Ben and Amy asked if I could help out with a Christmas present for Amy’s parents, who was I to resist making a new furry friend?

Anyone who has been photographed by me will know that I direct quite carefully, even for the photos that ‘look’ unposed. So you can imagine how far out of my comfort zone I am with pet photography! Getting a dog to be still, with paws in the right place and looking in just the right direction was never going to happen. But oh how we tried! And laughed!

The trick, I found, was something that you do all the time as a wedding photographer: predict what might happen and get there before it happens. All I had to do was create some situations, where the light and backgrounds were good, for Leo to be Leo.

This, my favourite from the session, was taken in the split second before Leo came bounding full pelt towards me!

It was carols and crafts galore at Kelmarsh Hall’s annual Christmas Fayre. And it was the first day of all the snow too. Very fitting.

Client review | Greg & Lisa

A few lovely words from Greg and Lisa whose wedding we photographed at Oakham Castle and The George of Stamford

“Finding the right wedding photographer was really important to us, we had decided not to have the day filmed so the photographs would be our conplete record of the day. When we saw the quality of Sarah’s work and spent a little time getting to know her we were really confident that she was the right photrographer for us.

“Wow, was that a great decision! The photographs of the day were amazing, they really tell a complete story and capture emotions, relationships, details and angles that we never dreamed she would have captured. We are over the moon with the the album, something we will always treasure.

“I recommend Sarah’s work unreservedly, she is a very very talented lady and we consider ourselves lucky to have had her capture our day for us.”

Client review | Ian & Katherine

Ian and Katherine had a quintessential Cotswolds wedding and we enjoyed every moment of working with them both. Seems they enjoyed it too!

Whilst looking around at a range of photographers we met Sarah and fell in love with her style and with her relaxed, friendly manner. This was strengthened further from our fabulous pre-wedding shoot – I highly recommend it! Who knew we could look so good!

On the day she was a warm and friendly face, although she managed to capture moments when I had no idea she was around! She made us feel so special, and made us look stunning, and I felt like a model during the twilight shots. And knowing she loves details I knew all my hard work and attention to detail would be photographed beautifully.

The only problem was choosing a select number for the album – needless to say we went over the limit and bought more! But with such a beautiful and quality album to show for it, and the look on our friends’ faces when they see it, it was well worth it. I can’t recommend her enough!
