Aaron & Lindsay share their date with Will & Kate
According to confetti.co.uk around 236 other couples were planning to get married on 29th April 2011. Aaron and Lindsay were one of those couples and headed down the aisle just two hours after Prince William and Catherine Middleton.
They tied the knot at St Mary The Virgin church in Higham Ferrers, Northamptonshire; and then enjoyed a relaxed reception in the sunshine at The Courtyard Luxury Lodge in Stanwick.
The TV was on and everyone was enjoying the atmosphere and build-up of the Royal wedding when I arrived to photograph the girls getting ready. Unusually everyone was really relaxed but I think there was too much happening on TV for anyone to feel any nerves! I remember Lindsay joking: ‘If Kate can do it in front of 1900 people, then I’m sure I can do it in front of 80!’
Aaron and Lindsay received a letter of congratulations from Clarence House who said they had obviously picked a good date and sent Prince William and Catherine’s ‘warmest best wishes for a very happy day and a wonderful future together.’ Such a lovely touch.
The vicar had also watched the Royal Wedding and in his address he picked up on The Bishop of London’s words that “every wedding is a royal wedding” and that a good marriage should ‘transform’ not ‘reform’ man and wife. They also shared the hymn ‘Jerusalem’.
I loved the double dose of two weddings with two beautiful Brides in one day. The two celebrations were very different of course but there were some very distinct similarities as well. Both Brides were totally calm and collected, confident and comfortable. And the two weddings were clearly all about the love.
Aaron and Lindsay’s guests also seemed to enjoy indulging in the two weddings and had a right royal laugh dressing up in Royal family masks during the reception!
Keep an eye on the blog here for the usual fuller feature on this wedding in the next couple of weeks.

Royal Wedding inspired ‘Red, White & Blue’ bridal fashion shoot
I just can’t help being a little excited about the Royal wedding and have definitely been feeling the flag-vibe. So much so that I couldn’t pass up the opportunity for a Britannia inspired bridal fashion shoot.
I wanted something elegant and classical but with a fun, quirky twist. So off I toddled with model Alice Murray to Stowe Gardens with union jacks, bunting, paper chains and ‘Jack’ the dog door stop.
Dresses were a mixture of designer and high street. And check out the cute union jack shoes!
My brief for hair and make-up was ‘make it bold and make it British’. How I would have described British hair I don’t know but Toni’s contemporary interpretation of vintage rolls was most definitely it! And I’m more than a little bit in love with the plait too.
The vintage style bouquet is by Love Bouquets and made from red, white and blue beads and brooches.
Loving the union jack maxi dress from online boutique Traffic People
‘France’ by Pronovias, from The Wedding Club
‘Rosala’ in red by Tobi Hannah, also from The Wedding Club
‘Darcey’ by Ellis Bridals, from Fairytale Weddings worn with ‘Patty’ union jack shoes by Irregular Choice

Kelmarsh Hall wedding photos – Min & Jay
I love colour. And sparkle. So Min and Jay’s wedding was pure indulgence for me.
Charlotte, my assistant / second shooter for the day, and I started with Jay getting ready. I always like to capture all the outfit details at this point in the day, as well as reportage photographs of the actual getting ready. And oh my giddy goodness the details we were spoilt with. Glittering gold Jimmy Choos, sparkling jewels, brightly coloured roses and the most beautifully decorated outfit in sapphire and gold.
Then it was off to Kelmarsh Hall for the ceremony and reception. It’s one of Northamptonshire’s finest wedding venues and a firm favourite of mine.
The ceremony was just lovely and was topped off with the amazing atmosphere and sound of a traditional drummer leading Min and Jay back down the aisle.
I loved all the gorgeous colourful outfits, of course, which made taking photos of guests enjoying the reception even more fun than normal.
And as if my senses hadn’t been indulged enough with the drummer and all the colour, the delicious Indian food certainly made Min and Jay’s wedding one that I will remember.

Pre-wedding shoot | Mark & Emily
This is Mark & Emily. Soon to be wed at Normanton Church Museum at Rutland Water, which is a beyond beautiful setting. And then we’ll be off to Pipewell Hall for a country garden style marquee reception.
Emily and Mark are planning a very relaxed day, totally personal to them. So much so that the couple and all their friends and family (and Emily’s students! – she’s a teacher!) have been busy crafting and making decor for the marquee. I’m so excited to see everything come together and to share in their special day.
Like a lot of couples Emily and Mark said they were really worried about being photographed and that ‘posing’ is not their thing. This is all the more reason to have a pre-wedding shoot. It helps get the awkwardness and uncertainty out of the way before your wedding. Then on your wedding day you can just concentrate on being fabulous!
