Aaron & Lindsay share their date with Will & Kate
According to confetti.co.uk around 236 other couples were planning to get married on 29th April 2011. Aaron and Lindsay were one of those couples and headed down the aisleĀ just two hours after Prince William and Catherine Middleton.
They tied the knot at St Mary The Virgin church in Higham Ferrers, Northamptonshire; and then enjoyed a relaxed reception in the sunshine at The Courtyard Luxury Lodge in Stanwick.
The TV was on and everyone was enjoying the atmosphere and build-up of the Royal wedding when I arrived to photograph the girls getting ready. Unusually everyone was really relaxed but I think there was too much happening on TV for anyone to feel any nerves! I remember Lindsay joking: ‘If Kate can do it in front of 1900 people, then I’m sure I can do it in front of 80!’
Aaron and Lindsay received a letter of congratulations from Clarence House who said they had obviously picked a good date and sent Prince William and Catherine’s ‘warmest best wishes for a very happy day and a wonderful future together.’ Such a lovely touch.
The vicar had also watched the Royal Wedding and in his address he picked up on The Bishop of London’s words that “every wedding is a royal wedding” and that a good marriage should ‘transform’ not ‘reform’ man and wife. They also shared the hymn ‘Jerusalem’.
I loved the double dose of two weddings with two beautiful Brides in one day. The two celebrations were very different of course but there were some very distinct similarities as well. Both Brides were totally calm and collected, confident and comfortable. And the two weddings were clearly all about the love.
Aaron and Lindsay’s guests also seemed to enjoy indulging in the two weddings and had a right royal laugh dressing up in Royal family masks during the reception!
Keep an eye on the blog here for the usual fuller feature on this wedding in the next couple of weeks.
