Stoke Rochford Hall wedding photography – Richard & Emma

Rain was forecast for Richard & Emma’s wedding and the clouds threatened all day. But the sunshine won through and we had a beautifully sunny afternoon. It was a touch blustery though and there were many fun moments when the wind took Emma’s long veil, tying her and anyone nearby in knots.

Emma looked stunning in a Stewart Parvin gown, ‘Luck be a Lady’ from The Bridal Gallery Finedon, and was the picture of elegance as she walked down the aisle. After the church ceremony we headed to Stoke Rochford Hall, near Grantham in Lincolnshire, for the reception.

Emma has recently set up her own venue styling business, EliBows, and was styling her own wedding, so I was prepared for something special and knew photographing the details would be important to her. I was blown away by how beautiful the Library looked all set-up for dinner.

The white linens and chair covers made a great canvas for the fresh white flowers and the purple accents. Asymmetrically-tied chair sashes were gathered at the back with a brooch. A detail which was carried through onto the cake and bouquets.

The cake table was set up beautifully too, with a lace cloth disguising the cake stand and framed photographs of each of their parents cutting their own wedding cakes.

Table numbers were also lovingly framed and each place setting had its own menu (a work of art in itself), tucked into the napkin and a ribboned box with a gift inside.

On the fireplaces were vases with floating candles which looked really pretty reflecting in the mirrors as the light faded. And an idea which I loved was the fish-bowls on the top table, swirled with bear grass and filled with water, ready for Emma and her Bridesmaids to put their bouquets into. A great way to save on your top table flowers!
