Wedding photography round-up | July
July was all about winning the MPA East Midlands ‘Wedding Photographer of the Year’ title (licentiate category) for the third year in a row. A hat trick that put a big smile on my face. Scooore!

In case you missed the news of my win then grab a cuppa and read the story behind my winning photograph. I actually won first, second and third place in the wedding category (you can enter as many images as you like) plus four merits in other categories. So I’ve been one very happy bunny this last month. I’ll share the rest of the winning photos and the stories on how they were created when wedding season has calmed down a little.
These past few weeks have been busy with pre-wedding photos shoots and meetings as well weddings, photo viewing sessions and album designing.
The month kicked off with pre-weddings shoots for Gavin & Michelle and Paul & Helena. Both couples have been planning their weddings from abroad so it was lovely to meet face-to-face and have a good natter.
I had a really fun time photographing Paul & Helena’s wedding at Chicheley Hall. A venue I’ve worked at many times but this was my first wedding there and it was beyond fabulous. Mit and Ranj’s wedding took place at the beautiful Kelmarsh Hall. I work at Kelmarsh a lot but this was my first summer wedding there and it was great to use the stunning gardens for the photos. And then the month ended in style with Brett & Katie’s wedding at East Haddon church and Holdenby House. A truly beautiful day.
Now, my heart is beginning to pound as I think about the month ahead. It will be like July but busier!
Mark & Emily and Martin & Fiona will be getting married this week. Their venues will see me enjoying the best of the Northamptonshire and Rutland countryside. Next week I’ll have two weddings in a row at Rushton Hall; those of Dan & Charlotte and Chris & Charlotte. Big yay for Rushton Hall. And then I’ll finish off the month with Gavin & Michelle‘s wedding at Dodmoor House, another of my regular venues and a firm favourite. They’re all going to be very different styles of wedding so I’m looking forward to seeing how they all come together.
Also this month I will be at the Rushton Hall Wedding Open Day on 21st August. It’s free to go along and the Hall will be set up as it would be on a wedding day, so if you haven’t chosen your wedding or reception venue yet then it’s definitely worth a visit.
See you on the other side!
