Andrew & Philippa’s wedding at Prestwold Hall
Andrew and Philippa got married at Prestwold Hall in Leicestershire last year. In fact, they’re just celebrating their first anniversary so now seems as good a time as any to finally share some of their photos!
This was my first wedding at Prestwold Hall and it instantly became one of my favourite venues to work at. It’s a delightful country house with great architecture, it has lots of lovely natural light and the gardens are gorgeous. It’s run by an amazing team and there are great options indoors in case it’s cold or wet. You couldn’t want for better in a venue for your wedding photography. I loved working there.
Philippa is a fellow wedding photographer. So no pressure there! I was made up that she and Andrew asked me if I’d do their wedding photography. It’s such an honour to work for another wedding photographer. The thing Andrew and Philippa wanted most of all was some classically posed portraits, so we spent quite a bit of time on those and used as much of what Prestwold Hall has to offer as we could. We did a few group photos too and of course, lots of documentary photography throughout the day to capture the action and atmosphere of their wedding.
Andrew and Philippa had an intimate wedding; warm, fuss-free and all about celebrating with their closest family and friends. In keeping with the low key but special feeling their photography covered just the main parts of the day; the ceremony and drinks reception. With smaller weddings there are less people to hide amongst so I worked alone to keep things as discreet as possible.
If you’re looking for a photographer at your wedding at Prestwold please get in touch. I’d love to work there again.
Onto the important bit, some photos…
Lovely feedback from Andrew & Philippa
“Our only real worry about our wedding photography was that we didn’t want the formal photography to take up a lot of time on the day and neither of us wanted a lot of photos into the evening. We really enjoyed the time doing the photos, which was the right amount of time, and it was nice to have a break from the guests to have time together being soppy!
We wanted a photographer who we got on with and who wouldn’t be too bossy on the day. We like natural, well-posed photos and didn’t want a lot of post-production on the photos – both strong reasons for choosing Sarah!
Our favourite part of the wedding photography on the day was the couple shots in the grounds of the hall. It was a lovely day and the venue is so nice and we had time together as a couple; being soppy!
Sarah is very calm and unobtrusive on the day and us adding to the list of planned photos on the day wasn’t a problem. The photos Sarah produces are a nice mix of formal and informal, creative and not over processed. Just what we wanted.”
