The complete story
Some wedding days are warm. Some are hot. And then there’s Louise and David’s Fawsley Hall wedding, which hit my personal record books for being the spiciest one I’ve ever photographed at 40+ degrees and not a cloud in the sky!
But despite the heat, the day was full of heart and humour. And in such an amazing setting, it felt like a romcom-meets-period-drama. I always love coming back to Fawsley (I’ve seen it in every season now), but Louise and David’s day was unique and unforgettable.
“Thanks soo much for the wonderful photos. We absolutely LOVE them, you’re sooo talented!”
Louise & David
The preparations
Ahead of their civil ceremony in the main house of Fawsley Hall, Louise and David got ready in their suites with the help of Team Bride and Team Groom. I loved being able to capture the anticipation building on both sides of the hall, like secret interconnectedness.
The ceremony
Fawsley’s elegant Salvin Longroom glowed in the sunlight, and with soft florals, it was quite the romantic ceremony location.
Louise and David started as they meant to go on, by kissing as soon as they met at the top of the aisle. Whoa there, love birds, spoiler alert for later! Their lovely registrar, Tracey, set them on the right track with laughter, the guests followed, and it set the tone for a ceremony that felt completely relaxed, joyful, and full of heart.
After their official first kiss as newlyweds, Louise and David exited the Hall, hand-in-hand, through a flurry of confetti, looking like the leads in their own romantic film.
The drinks reception
Drinks and canapes flowed in the courtyard, a saxophonist played chilled-out summer tunes, and the shade quickly became prime real estate. We popped to the prettiest pockets of light for some relaxed portraits and group photos, bringing the dramatic countryside views and Fawsley’s architecture into the backdrop.
The evening party
The inside of Knightley Court was beautifully dressed, with a floral chandelier that made the wedding breakfast feel like something out of a dream. The speeches were filled with hilarious and heartfelt moments – and lots of great reactions to capture.
As the sun dipped lower (and finally stopped trying to melt us all), guests spilt back outside under the festoon lights and a very welcome breeze. Louise and David cut their cake and then launched straight into a choreographed first dance that deserved a glitterball trophy. Then the dancefloor filled up with hugs, spins, and all the messy magic of a proper celebration.
100% brilliant.
