The complete story

Some weddings just glow. Natalie and Alex’s celebration at Fawsley Hall had just that kind of magic – beauty in everything alongside soul-stirring moments of connection that made their day unique and unforgettable. With their beloved dog Ted by their side and meaning woven into every detail, it was the kind of day that lingers long after the first dance.

“Thanks for these AMAZING photographs. You were so helpful and patient on our wedding day and half the time we didn’t even realise we were being photographed. The images totally exceeded our expectations and we can’t thank you enough.”

Alex getting ready

As the day began, Alex and his Dad and Groomsmen put on their suits and pinned their buttonholes. The crisp light from the roof windows made their preparations a dream to capture. Then, they headed across to St Mary’s Church – which is a short walk away in the grounds of the Fawsley Hall estate – where faithful black lab, Ted, supervised and calmed them.

Natalie getting ready

Natalie got ready with her mum, flower girls, and bridesmaids in one of the Hall’s suites. The little ones played, and a well-organised glam squad set to work while everyone enjoyed croissants with champagne and lots of chatter amongst the excitable hustle and bustle. Natalie wore a divinely detailed Kelly Faetanini dress covered in 3D floral applique – with genius detachable sleeves! And her showstopping veil featured the couple’s initials embroidered alongside embellishments from her mum’s wedding dress. The girls were rightly stunned when she emerged to greet them.

Natalie’s Dad eagerly waited for her at the bottom of the stairs. After serious life challenges for their family in the lead up to the wedding day, this was an especially significant time for them both. It meant the world to be together for a happy day after everything they’d been through. A heartfelt hug and quiet moment later, they headed off to the church.

The ceremony

Nestled in the middle of a lush green field is Fawsley church, which was beautifully decorated with blousy white flowers, fresh foliage, and fragrant eucalyptus. Ted the dog also made an effort with his white floral collar – and created an unplanned but joyful petal-sprinkled aisle every time he shook!

The vicar kindly gave me freedom to move around so I could capture all the moments that were important to Natalie and Alex from the best angle. But keen to still be discreet, I used the hymns as cover to move between the front and back of the church and keep the photography subtle.

Once Natalie and Alex were officially husband and wife, the gospel choir’s voices rang out, filling the air with elation. The acoustics of the space made their music sound even more powerful and celebratory. It was as if the church itself was alive with joy.

Ted whisked the newlyweds back down the aisle, and the gospel choir sang in celebration. We paused at the back door of the church for some quick portraits while the guests lined up with handfuls of confetti. Natalie and Alex exited the church under a blizzard of petals, and strode along the grassy pathway with huge smiles on their faces and plenty of confetti in their hair!

Are you planning a wedding at St Mary’s Church in Fawsley?

First of all, could you have chosen anywhere more romantic?! Also, I’d love to chat with you about capturing your wedding here. But if it’s still early days, you’re welcome to carry on and explore more.

The drinks reception

Natalie and Alex hopped in a car (under the watchful eye of the resident swan) back to Knightley Court, a converted coach house next to the main hall. The guests made their way on foot, a short walk along the tree-lined country road to the reception.

A roaming brass band united everyone in the joyful celebration. It was impossible not to get caught up in the lively music and carefree spirit.

Ted received lots of welcome fuss too, and everyone enjoyed quality time to chill and chat with drinks. Simply being with family was the focus of the day, so I kept my eyes peeled for all the laughter, hugs, and emotion between their favourite people.

The evening

The speeches were deeply emotional. Natalie’s Dad made a heartfelt speech that touched everyone in the room. Her best friend read an ode that she’d personally written. And Alex shared that he’d written his speech before Natalie’s dad fell ill, and when he revisited it, he found nothing had changed, yet everything had changed. Their relationships had deepened and meant so much more. It was a beautiful reminder of how love and gratitude can carry us through challenging chapters. And amongst the heartfelt words were plenty of laughs, cheers, and happy hand squeezes … swiftly followed by a yummy feast.

Evening celebrations began with cutting their cake, surrounded by candles and twinkly lights, before they made their way to the dancefloor to party the night away.

But here’s the thing:

You need more than an incredible photographer to get wedding photos you love (though that helps!). You also need a day that’s totally you - the kind that makes your heart happy and infuses your photos with nothing but happy memories. That’s why I offer a holistic, thoughtful service to help you set the tone for photos that are as meaningful as they are beautiful.

Sound like your cuppa? Pop the kettle on and explore my little corner of the internet.

I hope this post was exactly what you needed.

If you tumbled down the Google rabbit hole and are wondering who I am or how you ended up here, let me introduce myself...

I’m Sarah Vivienne, a relaxed wedding photographer based in Northamptonshire (but I happily roam the UK for a good love story). I work with big-hearted couples who are planning countryside celebrations - where connection, not perfection, is the star of the show.

With nearly 20 years’ experience under my camera strap, I know a wedding isn’t about the photos. It’s about a day where you’re so immersed in the moment you forget the camera’s even there. My job? To bottle up all the timeless natural magic, so you can relive it forever.

Oh hey! Thanks for stopping by.
