Jim & Fliss’ pre-wedding portraits at Castle Ashby Gardens

May 19, 2015

This spring has been fully booked with pre-wedding shoots so I’ve been spending lots of time out in the fresh air lately. It’s been good for the soul after what seemed like an endless winter at my desk. I’ve been in awe at how much and how quickly the landscape has changed around us as we’ve worked. My favourite spots for shooting were short lived because every week things looked different. The most beautiful cherry trees were in full blossom one week and the next had created a confetti-like carpet of pink petals. Bright buttercups burst into life and, just as quickly as they appeared, they handed over to bluebells and cow parsley.

Just as I’ve adored the beauty of nature flourishing, I’ve loved watching my clients’ confidence grow in front of the camera as their engagement session has progressed. I hope, more than anything else, that a couple go away after their pre-wedding shoot feeling confident about having their photos taken and realise that they can look good in photos.

Here are some favourites from Jim & Fliss’ engagement photography, who, if you listen to them, aren’t photogenic. I know.
